Dolph is a six year old Belgium Malinois imported to the United States. Dolph was originally working at the Delaware County Sheriff’s office assigned to Sheriff Al Myers until October of 2005 when he was purchased and assigned to Deputy Lisska. Dolph was trained by Deputy Lisska and Jeff Moody of Wachtmeister Police Dog Trainers LTD. Dolph is trained as a dual purpose police dog. Dolph  completed 5 weeks of pre-training with trainer Jeff Moody, and an additional 5 weeks training with his assigned handler, Deputy Lisska. Dolph earned his state certification from OPOTA in February of 2006. Dolph lives and works with Deputy Lisska. The k-9 team was officially deployed in late May of 2006. As of December 2006 the k-9 unit had 85 uses in the first six months on patrol with 12 felony and 26 misdemeanor arrests. 43 of the uses were assisting agencies in and out of Madison County. Deputy Lisska and Dolph continue to train on a weekly basis with other k-9 teams in central Ohio. In August of 2005 Deputy Lisska obtain his certification through the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy as a certified k-9 evaluator for the State of Ohio.
