Funding Concerns

One of the statutory requirements of the Sheriff’s Office is to provide public safety and services throughout the county. The Law Enforcement Deputies are the first responders primarily charged with that responsibility. It is a priority to insure sufficient deputies to provide public safety at a reasonable level and to minimize the risk to deputies and other officers in the county. Due to the economic crisis, a decrease in available funding has resulted in the reduction of deputies over the past year, to a degree which causes me great concern.

I have established this page to provide you with information and facts as it relates to your Sheriff’s Office and the May levy issue. Use the links below to review the information and I will update this page as the issues are discussed. Finally, your comments, feelings and ideas are important as I continue to contemplate the best options available for Madison County.
